 Saskatoons

Three years ago, when I was looking over catalogues and books about plants which could grow around here, I found an article about this new cultivated berry being grown around Fort McMurray, Alberta, called the saskatoon. Apparently it is the cultivar of the western thimbleberry, which lives around here somewhere according to my Alaska trees and shrubs book. Raintree Nursery carried them, so I bought a half-dozen in 2005. I got my first berries from them last summer.
