Mustard greens have been some of my favorite food since growing them in Oregon several decades ago. My hopes were high after moving to Galena, but that old devil sunshine has been my nemesis ever since. The problem is that the constant sunshine causes the plant to bolt, and mustard greens being what they are, when they start to bolt, you can almost watch it happening.
As a result, practically all of my efforts to grow these wonderful veggies have been a failure. And those efforts have been legion. I think I've been through almost every variety sold at Territorial Seeds, Evergreen Seeds, and Kitazawa Seeds. And practically all of them bolt, with the exception of the ones I've set aside on these pages:
There are also some potential other mustard greens that show some potential, too. There are still possibilities out there.
