  Baby blue eyes (Nemophilia insignis)

When I had my first Bush garden in front our house in Tuluksak, I planted a small garden by the front door with a bag of some no-name wildflower seed. I came back from a month-long vacation to find a number of flowers were growing well, even though the garden was on the north side of the house and the soil was basically untilled sand. We looked for the names of the survivors and this one came up.

Baby blue eyes not only grows quickly and well, it's even self-seeded at the margins of the gardens some year, establishing itself in gravel. I always have a patch of this stuff somewhere.

And I see that I have a duplicate photo posted here... but I like the effect. It's staying.
